Beth grew up on the South Shore of Boston, developing an early love for the ocean and marine biology. With both parents as biologists, she learned at a young age to appreciate nature and to care about environmental conservation. Yearly family vacations to various National Parks across the U.S. set in motion her desire to capture the natural beauty of the earth. She was rarely seen without a camera in hand.
Beth received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University in 1996 and continued to work as both a veterinary nurse and a research technician. In 1997 she took a leave of absence in order to travel around the globe, and began scuba diving. Discovering the underwater kingdom forever changed her life as she realized a whole new world had opened for her. The ability to capture life underwater on film would allow her to share her passion with others, giving them a glimpse of the rare beauty that exists beneath the water's surface.
To turn her hobby into a career and further her education, she moved to Santa Barbara, California to attend Brooks Institute of Photography. Beth's approach to photography has been profoundly influenced by her childhood memories and her travels. Her acute appreciation for nature leads her to strive to capture the feeling of unique moments in time.
She has spent time exploring and photographing different reef systems all over the world, including Palau, Honduras, The Philippines, Thailand, Tahiti, Fiji, Belize, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mexico, many locations of both the West Indies and the Caribbean Sea, and both the East and West coasts of the United States.
Being an outdoors enthusiast, she enjoys photographing sports and events. If you do not find Beth behind the lens, you will most likely see her outdoors- hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking, swimming or snowboarding.
Beth currently resides in Carpenteria, California, and is available for assignment both locally and worldwide. |
